Breaking News: PGP Releases New Product That Reduces Power Outages

The Transformer COP. It stops wildlife outages, aids in ice shedding, slows rusting, deters nesting.

Each year wildlife intruding on power poles leads to thousands of outages, frustrated customers, and costs utility companies billions of dollars in repairs and lost revenue. To remedy this problem, Power Grid Professionals recently released its Transformer COP product, a device specifically designed for the electric utility industry which encapsulates the entire lid of pole mounted transformers, creating a patented one-of-a-kind barrier between wildlife and grounded components. This new device has been designed to keep critters from causing power outages and is rolling off the production line this week in Alabama. The COP (Critter Outage Preventer) is a game changing innovation that takes just minutes to attach to transformers and prevents squirrels, birds, and other wildlife from causing outages or damage to utility equipment.

Larry McHenry, co-founder of Power Grid Professionals, has 35 years of electrical experience as a former lineman and supervisor for a major Texas utility company, says “This is a lifelong dream to transform an industry that delivers a critical service every day to homes and commercial clients.” He and his co-founding partner, Deon Wright, are subject matter experts in the power restoration industry. Both are excited about the opportunity to create jobs in Alabama and throughout the country. “It’s gratifying to provide a product that can prevent the accidental injuries of utility company employees, keep wildlife safe, and the power on,” Wright said.

McHenry spent his career seeking to solve problems that would save utility companies time and money. As a demonstration of his commitment, he created a fully functioning electrical lab near his property in Texas.

Power Grid Professionals has a partnership with Innovative Plastics in Northern Alabama to manufacture 40,000 units a month initially and quickly ramp up to meet the needs of the global electric utility industry. The company ultimately expects to produce between 500k and 1.2m units a year.

The Transformer COP is available for immediate order, shipment, and delivery throughout the US. To purchase units of the COP, schedule a consultation, or interview representatives from Power Grid Professional, contact us here.
